Terms & Conditions
Last updated: October 1, 2025
Welcome to Charity Bridge Fund (“CBF”). These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) explain how our fundraising platform works for donors, nonprofits, and other users. By using our website, you agree to these Terms. Please read them carefully.
Definitions
When we use certain words in these Terms, here’s what we mean:
A “Donor” is any individual or organization that contributes funds through Charity Bridge Fund.
A “Nonprofit” is a charitable organization that is eligible to receive grants from CBF.
A “Matching Campaign” is a fundraising program where contributions may be matched by CBF or a sponsoring partner.
A “User” is anyone who visits or uses the Charity Bridge Fund website, including both Donors and Nonprofits.
Eligibility
To use the website as a donor, you must be at least 18 years old or the legal age of majority in your jurisdiction. To participate as a nonprofit, your organization must be legally registered as a charitable entity in your jurisdiction, must be eligible under IRS and CBF guidelines, and must provide any verification information requested by CBF.
Use of the Website
We ask that everyone use the Charity Bridge Fund website responsibly and for lawful purposes only. Misuse of the platform—such as attempting to commit fraud, launder money, misrepresent nonprofit status, or otherwise engage in prohibited activity—will result in suspension or termination of access.
CBF also reserves the right to remove or withhold nonprofit listings or grant recommendations if information submitted is false, misleading, or incomplete.
About the Platform
Charity Bridge Fund is a donor-advised fund (DAF). That means when donors make contributions through our website, they are making an irrevocable charitable gift to CBF. Donors may recommend that CBF direct grants to specific eligible nonprofits, but CBF always retains final discretion and legal control over contributed funds.
We provide this platform to connect donors with nonprofits, publish nonprofit information, and facilitate fundraising campaigns, including special matching campaigns.
Donors
When you make a contribution through CBF, you are donating to the donor-advised fund, not directly to the nonprofit you recommend. Because of this, you will receive a tax acknowledgment receipt from CBF. That receipt, and not any documentation from the nonprofit, is what you may use to substantiate your charitable contribution. We encourage all donors to consult with their own tax advisors about the deductibility and treatment of their gifts.
All contributions made through CBF are final and non-refundable, except where required by law. Donors may suggest grants to eligible nonprofits, and CBF will make every effort to honor those recommendations when they comply with applicable law and CBF’s charitable mission. However, grants are made at the sole discretion of CBF.
Nonprofits
Nonprofits that participate in the platform understand that they do not receive direct donations from donors. Instead, they may be eligible to receive grants from CBF, following our due diligence and verification process.
In order to be featured on the website or participate in campaigns, nonprofits must provide information requested by CBF. By submitting information, nonprofits represent and warrant that all materials provided are true, accurate, current, and complete. Nonprofits also grant CBF permission to publish their name, mission, and campaign information on the website.
Grants must be used exclusively for charitable purposes consistent with the nonprofit’s mission and applicable law. If a nonprofit loses eligibility, CBF reserves the right to withhold, redirect, or reallocate funds to another eligible charitable purpose.
Matching Campaigns
From time to time, CBF or our partners may offer matching campaigns, where eligible contributions made through the platform may be matched by funds provided by CBF or sponsoring donors.
All Matching Campaigns are governed by both these Terms and the Matching Campaign Terms “Matching Terms” published on our website. Matching Terms set out the specific rules for each campaign, including the match ratio, campaign timeframe, allocation options, sequencing of matches, and eligibility requirements.
Donors acknowledge that matching funds are not guaranteed. They are subject to availability, eligibility, and funding caps, and may only be applied until designated matching funds are exhausted.
CBF reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to interpret, adjust, or discontinue any Matching Campaign, including withholding or reallocating matching funds if fraudulent, misleading, or ineligible activity is identified.
Fees
To keep our platform running and to administer the donor-advised fund, CBF may deduct fees from contributions before making grants to nonprofits. These may include platform fees, payment processing fees charged by third-party providers, and administrative fees to support compliance and due diligence. A current Fee Schedule will always be available on our website. By making a contribution or registering as a nonprofit, you acknowledge and accept that such fees may apply.
Intellectual Property
The content and technology of the CBF website belong to us and our licensors, except for the information provided by nonprofits. Users agree not to copy, misuse, or tamper with the website, and to use it only for lawful purposes.
Limitation of Liability
CBF provides the website “as is,” without warranties of any kind. We are not responsible for the acts or omissions of donors or nonprofits, or for how nonprofits use the funds they receive. CBF is also not liable for delays caused by third-party payment processors or for any lost donations, errors in nonprofit information, or ineligible grant recommendations.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If you continue to use the website after changes are posted, you agree to the updated Terms.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of California.
